No family should walk this journey alone
Project Family Circle Inc. exists to make sure the family surrounding a person in a mental-health crisis is seen, supported, educated, and connected to appropriate help.
The problem we address
When a person becomes acutely unwell, a system engages around them: emergency services, hospitals, clinicians, medication, follow-up appointments. That system is necessary, and it is built almost entirely around one individual.
The household around that person receives no equivalent support. A spouse takes on every practical responsibility at once. Parents miss work. Children are moved between relatives and told very little. Siblings quietly absorb the message that their needs can wait. Weeks later, when the acute phase passes, the family is depleted and no one has checked on them.
This gap is not caused by anyone’s neglect. It is structural. Our mission is to fill it.
What we commit to
The family is the unit of care
Treatment systems are built around an individual patient. We work with everyone else in the household, because a mental-health crisis reshapes an entire family's daily life.
Arrive early, not after the emergency
Families rarely ask for help while they are inside a crisis. We try to reach them during it, when a meal, a ride, or a clear next step matters most.
Dignity before paperwork
No application, no means test, no requirement to disclose a diagnosis. Families share only what they choose to share.
Stay in our lane
We are not clinicians on call. We say plainly what we do and do not provide, and we refer families to appropriate professional and emergency resources.
Privacy is part of the care
What a family tells us stays with us. We do not publish family stories, names, or identifying details.
Practical over theoretical
Our education and resources are written for a parent reading at midnight, not for a conference audience.
What we do not do
Being clear about our limits protects families. Family Circle does not provide emergency or crisis response, psychiatric or medical treatment, diagnosis, medication management, inpatient or residential care, or legal advice. We do not replace a treating professional.

Project Family Circle Inc. is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is classified as a public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Federal tax exemption is effective July 16, 2026.
